I’m taking a look at midlife through the lens of Generation X… be it the aviator sunglasses of “Top Gun,” the no-correction glasses made popular by English majors in the late-1980s, or the reading glasses I wear to write this blog (or read labels on cans, or wear to check my texts, or carry in my purse for dimly lit restaurants, or…).
There are definitely pieces.
Shhh, don’t tell anyone, but I have that NR album on vinyl (it was a promo at Rolling Stones Records)
Thanks for the shoutout on the blog, and stay tuned. Lots more coming where this came from. Book on why parents need to let their children fail coming from HarperCollins in 2014 and my pieces at the Atlantic kind of dance around this topic, too. Really appreciate your perspective on the issue.
I could use a book on letting your kids fail, if only to make me feel better about myself! 🙂 We get The Atlantic at home, and it’s one of my favorite pubs — great perspective. Love your pieces there and Motherlode.
Thanks for following my blog! Looking over the titles of your past posts here, it looks like we have a lot of interests in common … plus a lot of shared GenX pride and angst. What’s the rock music topic you can’t wait to weigh in on? I’ll stay tuned …
Likewise!
Wow — the topic I can’t wait to weigh in on? That’s a great question to ponder!
